Home Again Nevada Program

Home Again Nevada Program

Nevada Homeowner Relief Program

Through a remarkable national settlement of 25 billion dollars, the state of Nevada and 48 other states were able to prove foreclosure abuses through five of the nation’s largest mortgage servicing agencies. Financial Institutions including Wells Fargo, J.P. Mortgage, Bank of America, Citi, and Ally (GMAC) were found to be involved in several unacceptable mortgage servicing acts nationwide.

Several agencies within Nevada became involved in helping to put together a program that offers many financial assistance to local residents.

The Office of the Nevada Attorney General, Nevada Legal Services, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and other program agencies approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) who helped put this program together are:

  • Novadebt
  • Housing for Nevada
  • Neighborhood Housing Services
  • Community Services of Nevada
  • Springboard and Chicanos Por La Causa
  • Financial Guidance Center

Nevada, along with many negative equity states have struggled with the recovery of the housing crisis since 2008. The services offered to local residents of Nevada through the Home Again Program concerns those who seek assistance for:

  • Credit Restoration
  • Home Loan Modification
  • Purchasing A Home For The First Time

The focus of these services is to help restore Nevada, not only to help the recovery of the state’s economy, but to prevent future foreclosures and mortgage loan defaults that would add on to the state’s current statistics. By offering access to these assistance free of charge, the program should be more effective as more individuals would be able to receive the help they are looking for. The service offered to first-time homebuyers educates borrowers in the home buying process as well as assistance on down payment if borrowers are proven to be eligible. With the available resources and financial guidance, many individuals can be more aware of scams and make wiser decisions in handling their finances.
